Guaranteed To Be The Funniest Funeral, Or Your Flowers Back…

The following is the Obituary of Carla Zilbersmith… written by Carla Zilbersmith.
For those not yet “introduced” to her sense and sensibilities… you should read her Blog

Written by Carla:
Carla Zilbersmith, born December 15, 1962, died today, May 17th, 2010.   Carla Zilbersmith died in her  home this afternoon of Lou Gherig’s Disease, also known as ALS.
Carla Zilbersmith was mother to Maclen Zilber, her only son…that she knows of.  She was also daughter to Jack and Velma, sister to Jason and Stephen.  Friend to an amazing group of caring, creative and competent friends, and lover to several very lucky and largely undeserving men.
Although ALS is a fatal and incurable illness,  Carla never gave up hope that one day her death would be surrounded by a cloud of controversy and speculation.  Her final words, spoken through a clenched jaw were “oil can.”
The memorial is tentatively planned for the afternoon of, Saturday, June 5th. Details will be emailed as soon as they are determined.
It is guaranteed to be the funniest funeral that you have ever attended  or your flowers back.

Costumes encouraged but optional.

Carla Zilbersmith… Look Out Heaven…

Some of you may have read a while back, a post I wrote about Carla Zilbersmith…  I went to school with her.

Carla Smith - Magee High School - Class of 1980 - BobBlahBlah.comAfter school, she left for the bright lights and stages of California… she was successful, being both funny and a natural singer/performer… she got married and had a son Mac… and then she got ALSLou Gehrig’s Disease.

Late last week,  her son Mac, who has taken over the writing on the CarlaMuses Blog, announced on Facebook that Carla was nearing the end of her journey…

Carla…”is sleeping now, and likely won’t wake up again. You don’t have to be in pain anymore, Mom.”

I don’t have a point, and have nothing to add.Carla ZilberSmith - Watch Out Heaven - BobBlahBlah.com

I’ve just been looking at their Blog entries, and am stunned at the courage, humour and honesty, with which both Carla and her mature-beyond-his-years son faced down a horrible disease…

It will certainly kill her, but the disease NEVER took the life from her.

Look out Heaven… there is a wild redhead coming your way, and she is gonna cause a ruckus !!!
